About

This blog focuses on the interface between chemistry and biochemistry – chemical biochemistry, as I like to call it. My main interest in science was always chemistry, and physical chemistry in particular. Since then I’ve moved into structural biology, where I spend my days trying to determine the structure of proteins and their complexes.

In particular, I really enjoy looking at how chemical/physical changes to proteins affect their function and the evolutionary processes that tend to be behind these changes.

As this blog is only just getting started, it might take a while to find its groove but I’ll try to stick with the general biochemistry area. Hopefully what I want to write about will be what you want to read about.
